Motus Rentals Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all vehicle rentals commencing in the UK, whether booked online, by email or in person. By making a reservation you agree to these terms and to the Rental Agreement issued when the vehicle is collected or delivered. Rates, policies and terms vary by location and may change without notice.

Key points

  • Age — drivers must generally be at least 23 and hold a full licence held for at least one year. Some vehicle groups and locations require 25, and non-UK licence holders must be 25 with two years' licence history.
  • Licence and history — a valid physical licence is required, plus a DVLA share code for UK drivers. Digital licences are not accepted. Vehicles with more than eight seats require D1 entitlement.
  • Convictions — major convictions in the last five years disqualify a hire. DR10 and IN10 cannot be covered.
  • Security deposit — £300 for cars and £320 for vans, refundable after return and inspection.
  • Insurance — comprehensive cover is included. Excess and additional driver terms are set out in the Rental Agreement.
  • Fuel — vehicles are supplied and must be returned with the same fuel level, or refuelling is charged.
  • Out of hours — collections and returns outside branch hours attract an out of hours fee, shown in your quote before you book.

This website operates as a booking and enquiry platform on behalf of our licensed rental operators. The rental agreement is entered into between you and the specific Motus Rentals branch or franchise supplying the vehicle. Individual locations may maintain additional terms which override these general terms where they differ.
